Pieces to live with for years. [Shop the room](https://demo.uichemy.com/hollowoak/shop/) ### The lounge chair Alder Lounge Chair, now $1,032. A low oak frame with an oatmeal bouclé seat. ### The floor lamp Arc Oak Floor Lamp, $480. An oak stem under a soft linen drum shade. ### The jute rug Bramble Jute Rug, now $559. Hand-woven jute, 200 x 300 cm. Our story ### It began with one oak bench and a joiner friend Nora Ellison trained as a furniture restorer and grew tired of pieces made to be thrown away. In 2015, in Hudson, New York, she began selling oak benches made by a joiner friend. Today we are a team of 24, still working slowly and choosing materials that age well. Made slowly. Lived in for years. New furniture rarely could. So we make fewer things, in oak, linen, wool and clay, and we make them to be re-oiled, mended and handed on. We choose natural materials, pay our makers fairly and build each piece so it can be re-oiled, washed and mended for years, rather than replaced. 01 ### Made to last Solid oak, honest joints and a 10-year warranty on every frame we sell. 02 ### Natural materials Oak, washed linen, undyed wool and stoneware. Nothing that will not age well in a home. 03 ### Fair to makers We work with 12 small workshops, pay a fair price for every order and visit them in person. 04 ### Fewer, better pieces A small range we can stand behind, made to be kept, re-oiled and handed on.
