Who we are
Maré is a fine jewellery studio based at Værnedamsvej 12, 1619 Copenhagen V, Denmark. When this policy says "we", "us" or "Maré", it means Maré Studio ApS, which is the data controller for the personal data described here.
This policy covers our website, our online shop, our studio in Copenhagen and any emails we send you. It does not cover the websites of our stockists, who have their own policies.

Data we collect
We only collect what we need to make, send and look after your jewellery.
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, the pieces you bought, ring sizes and any engraving text.
- When you create an account: your name, email address and a password, which we store only in encrypted form.
- When you contact us: the content of your message and any photos you send, for example of a piece that needs repair.
- When you browse: basic technical data such as your browser type, device, approximate location by country and the pages you visit.
Payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.

How we use it
We use your data to process and deliver your order, to handle returns, resizing and repairs, to answer your questions, and to keep our website secure and working well.
If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email address to send you news about new pieces and studio events, roughly once a month. You can unsubscribe with one click at the bottom of any email.
Under the GDPR we need a legal basis for each use. For orders and aftercare, it is the contract between us. For security and fraud prevention, it is our legitimate interest. For newsletters and non-essential cookies, it is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Retention
We keep order records for five years, because Danish bookkeeping law requires it, and so we can honour lifetime repairs on your pieces. Account details are kept until you close your account. Messages to us are deleted two years after the conversation ends.
Newsletter details are removed as soon as you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in anonymised form only.

Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your data, unless we must keep it by law.
- Restrict or object to how we use it, including for marketing.
- Move your data to another service in a common format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier use.
We reply to every request within one month and never charge for it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, at datatilsynet.dk.
