About Ostra
A senior studio that turns sharp strategy into brands people remember
Since 2016 we have helped 200+ brands in 12 countries say one clear thing, then say it with style.

Our mission
Easy to understand
Make every brand we touch easier to understand and harder to forget, so the right people get it in seconds and still recall it a week later.
Our vision
One table, one team
A studio where strategy, design and build share the same table, so ideas never get lost in a handover between agencies, freelancers and devs.
What we value
Small and senior
Senior people on every project. We say what we will do, then we do it. And we would rather ship fewer things with real craft than chase volume.
How a project runs
Four steps from first call to launch
Every engagement follows the same rhythm, whether it is a logo refresh or a full relaunch. You always know which step we are in, what lands next and who is doing it. Most projects run eight to eleven weeks, and every launch comes with 30 days of support.

Step 1: Discover
One to two weeks of interviews with your team and customers, plus an audit of what you have today. We leave with clear goals and one success metric that the whole project is measured against.

Step 2: Define
A focused week to set positioning, map the sitemap and agree a creative direction, so design starts from decisions rather than guesses.

Step 3: Design
Three to six weeks of identity, pages and motion, shared in a review every week. You see real work early, comment in one place, and nothing big ever arrives as a surprise at the end of the month.

Step 4: Deliver
One to two weeks to build, test and launch, then a full handover and 30 days of support while your team settles into the new site.
01.Our journey toward a calmer, more deliberate kind of studio starts here. We moved into a sunlit room in Lisbon with a team of 12, put everyone at one long oak table, and stopped splitting strategy, design and build across separate teams. That single table still sets the pace of every project we run.
02.Our first Awwwards Site of the Day arrived, and with it a lot of new briefs. We formed a dedicated motion team the same year, because clients kept asking for launch films and interface animation that felt as considered as the brand work underneath it.
03.We launched monthly retainer plans for teams that need design every week, not once a year. Before the year was out we welcomed our 100th client, and most of the new work came from people who had already shipped one project with us.
04.CSS Design Awards named us one of the top 3 studios to watch in Europe. The team grew to 20 people, still senior on every project, and the retainer clients saw their traffic climb by an average of 7.8% each month across the year.
05.Ostra is now 24 people across Lisbon and remote desks in Europe. This year we opened a product design practice, so the brands we build can carry the same clarity into the apps and tools their customers use every day.

Top 3 studios to watch in Europe
That was the CSSDA verdict for 2025. Along the way we have picked up 3 Awwwards Sites of the Day, 2 CSS Design Awards and an FWA, but repeat clients matter most to us.
